Do you love me

Or just thinking about it

It’s that old smell of disappointment

Gets me down

I know I shouldn’t let it

But somehow it wins

One day it'll be different

And a smile will come more easily

But until then

I'll let gravity hold me

Tightly in this space

Where the passion can still burn

Every time I see her face

And when the power overcomes me

I’ll just stay quiet and not let it show

Then not her nor anyone will know

And I will be safe
