A time, a place

Manning Point

I walked your sands

Felt your stones underfoot

Stood in wonder at their colours and patterns

I saw eagles glide in your wide expanse

And sensed myself flying with them

I listened for your roar

And watched as your breakers sent foam to my toes

I looked out upon your horizon

And witnessed the immense endlessness of beauty

Was at home in its calm and in its fury.

I was here with her

Just us,

And sometimes with the dogs,

Our kisses were passionate and full of heart

We embraced what there was

A full life waited

Until
