A time, a place
Manning Point
I walked your sands
Felt your stones underfoot
Stood in wonder at their colours and patterns
I saw eagles glide in your wide expanse
And sensed myself flying with them
I listened for your roar
And watched as your breakers sent foam to my toes
I looked out upon your horizon
And witnessed the immense endlessness of beauty
Was at home in its calm and in its fury.
I was here with her
Just us,
And sometimes with the dogs,
Our kisses were passionate and full of heart
We embraced what there was
A full life waited
Until
Manning Point is a "wild" beach or strand a few kilometres long on the mid north coast of New South Wales. I went there in November 2015 to say goodbye and when driving away these words came so I wrote them down.
