Coming through

The atmosphere of touching

Into the longing 

For the flesh

Of another body

Surpasses

All other endeavour

The tension between

Closeness and independence 

What am I to do with this

It is agony

This aching

Betrays

My fundamental person

The challenges of integrity

Can it be ever

Simplicity

While this desire courses

Every fibre of being

I am slave to it

Have no option

But to surrender to its mercy

And live to its ending

The joy of coupling 

Then into my solitude 

Return

Victorious

Knowing and sated

Until

Again it arises 

Whenever into those eyes

I look

And am devoured
